About Us

Who We Are

We, the members of Democratic Front, fully convinced that our country needs further political, economic and cultural emancipation and united in our quest for a sovereign and an inclusive Uganda, pledge to combat the enduring legacies of imperialism, capitalism, deleterious effects of unbridled globalisation and their local authoritarian comprador classes that have historically undermined our national liberation and self-determination.

We stand firm in our call for the decolonization of political institutions, acknowledging that the legacy of colonialism continues to shape power relations and governance structures in ways that limit the full expression of our sovereignty. In pursuit of this goal, we advocate for a federal system of governance that empowers regional communities and respects the autonomy of local institutions toward a more equitable distribution of power and resources, and a mechanism for safeguarding the rights of all communities within our nation.

Our VisionBuilding an Equitable and Inclusive Future

Our strength lies in our diversity, and true democracy means inclusive participation, free from discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, or social standing. We promote constructive dialogue, rejecting extremism and divisive tactics, and strive for an inclusive coalition of progressive voices committed to peaceful change. Acknowledging the injustices of global capitalism, we aim for governance marked by transparency, accountability, and the collective good. The Democratic Front stands for an equitable, just, and prosperous Uganda for everyone.

Our MissionEmpowering Uganda for True Sovereignty.

The Democratic Front is committed to Uganda’s full political, economic, and cultural sovereignty. We pledge to challenge imperialism, capitalism, and local authoritarian structures undermining our self-determination. We support decolonizing political institutions and advocate for a federal system that empowers local communities and respects traditional values. Our focus is on policies that prioritize Ugandans' welfare, promote economic independence, ensure social justice, and protect the environment. We oppose neocolonial influences and commit to transparent, equitable resource management. We call on all Ugandans to join us in creating a free, equal, and sovereign nation.
